Heating and Air Conditioning ReplaceWhen should a piece of heating or air conditioning equipment be repaired or replaced?
Here are some factors to consider:
  • How old is equipment?
  • If it is broken, what is the cost of repairs?
  • As the unit ages the parts will logically wear out and have a higher need for repair.
  • Are your utility bills too high now? The cost of utilities will normally go up.
  • Due to utility cost alone it may be worth getting higher efficiency equipment.
  • Does the existing heating and air conditioning system do the job?
  • When the outside temperature is 93 deg. F. are you comfortable?
  • When the outside temperature is 10 deg. F. are you comfortable?
  • Does your home have hot and cold spots?
  • If the answer to the above questions is different than you would like, call G R Freeman. With your input and our expertise, together we will design a system that fits your needs. Financing is available.

HumidifierHow does a humidifier help your home?
  • Comfort - In the heating season, if the relative humidity goes below 40% it will cause chilling effect on people in the home. A humidifier will put back the moister in the air and minimize the chilling effect.
  • Health - In the heating season, by maintaining the relative humidity at 40% to 50% the drying effect on your skin, nose and throat will be lessened.
  • Utility savings - In the heating season, maintaining the relative humidity at 40% to 50% will allow you to maintain a lower temperature and still feel comfortable.
  • Minimize aging of wood floors and furniture - by maintaining the relative humidity at the same level thru the winter, the drying, cracking, and shrinking will be at a minimum.
