A little bit about ourselves...

G. R. Freeman Heating and Air Conditioning was born from a dream-a dream of a young man about to be married. He told his young bride he was going to do 2 things in his lifetime. One was to build his own house and the other was to run his own business. Six years later, he built that house. Shortly after that, his thoughts returned to business. He enjoyed teaching heating and air conditioning at Ivy Tech, but he still dreamed of that business. By 1977, he started G.R. Freeman Heating and Air with one old truck and a few tools in his garage. Things went well and slowly the business grew. Each year, Greg Freeman, the owner, developed more skills and areas of expertise. He soon had a Master license in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, Electrical Contracting, and Residential/Building Contracting. This opened the door for work not just in a residential setting, but also commercial and industrial areas.

By the time his sons were in high school, all three of them worked summers for their dad. This was their chance to practice first hand the work ethic that had been modeled to them since their youth. As college graduations came, each made the choice to return home to the family business. By then, G.R. Freeman had grown into a thriving company with room for each son to take over his own area of expertise.

Many changes have taken place since G.R. Freeman began 30 years ago. We’ve been on the leading edge of technology and efficiency—from geo-thermal systems to Hybrid Heat to 2-stage heating and cooling. We have designed, built, and installed 60 ton rooftop units with ductwork. This same pride and attention to detail goes into every job, whether it’s a 60 ton commercial unit, or your new home.

Honesty, respect, and integrity are key words to describe the Freeman mission. This company was founded on these values and these same values have been passed from father to son to carry on into the second generation of quality work and service.
